Marc Leder’s Three Main Goals in Life

The father to three children, Marc Leder’s number one goal is to be a great parent and raise his children well so that they would be independent and successful in life, whatever paths they may take. His second goal is to be one of the best private equity investors ever. He relies on a specific formula to identify potential companies for buyouts: adaptability, mission, involvement and consistency. His third main life goal is to share some of his financial fortune with society, especially those in need. Marc Leder and his partner support two nonprofit charter schools in Florida, and their company Sun Capital Inc. helps other charities as well.

Marc Leder the Arts Patron

He is currently on a mission to find balance and inner peace in his life. He shifted his attention to what he has always had an interest in: art. He became a collector of arts, and is now the Director of the Berggruen Museum in Berlin, which specializes in modern art pieces as well as classics done by Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Henri Matisse and Georges Braque.Marc Leder is also the Director of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation (RPAF) which is committed to helping inner city youths in New York City get in touch with their artistic side. The RPAF also helps aspiring artists by giving them the means to do exhibitions that would give them greater exposure. It is interesting to not that Marc Leder is also the Director of the Federal Enforcement Homeland Security Foundation.

Marc Leder’s Philanthropic Projects

Aware of his very fortunate circumstances, Marc Leder is also actively participating in philanthropy. The first step of supporting philanthropy is by establishing a charity committee at Sun Capital Inc. Every year, four to six employees of Sun Capital Inc. volunteer and nominate their favorite charity. He is aware that there is a limit to what individuals can do in terms of charity work, so he recommends everyone to think and choose carefully. He said, “Every cause sounds like a great cause, but you still have to pick and choose because you can’t contribute to all of them. and we need to look at how many people we’re helping and obviously, there are different levels of help. For one charity, a sizeable donation can help a thousand individuals, and for another charity, it would only help twenty.”
